Why the source matters more than you think
A streamer is not just a bridge between your phone and your amplifier. It is the clock, the DAC, the digital filter and, increasingly, the room-correction hub for a digital system.
NODE ICON takes that job seriously. Its dual-mono DAC architecture uses two ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M converters, one per channel, in an aluminum chassis. The design goal is quiet, unforced detail: fingers on strings, the room around a voice, the space between notes. What you hear will depend on the recording, the system and the room — but that is what the component is built for.
A hub for the whole system
What makes NODE ICON unusually easy to live with is how much it connects. HDMI eARC brings the television into the same system as your music. Balanced XLR outputs let it sit a long cable run away from the amplifier. A THX AAA headphone amplifier, with two quarter-inch jacks, means you can listen privately without changing the rest of the system.
Around the back you will find HDMI eARC, optical, analog and USB-C inputs, plus RCA, coaxial, optical and USB outputs.
